Graphic Design Production Artist (Part-Time)

Location - Sterling Illinois

Wahl Clipper Corporation, in business since 1919, is looking for a Part-time (under 29 hours per week) Graphic Design Production Artist in our Professional Animal Division.  This position will not have benefits of any kind (insurance, etc. included) 

A production artist produces basic drawings, designs and copy layouts for ads, brochures, corporate identity, packaging, presentations, promotional displays, signage, online content or other communication materials. You would manage the prepress process and make sure files will not be problematic when they go to print. You might have to juggle a number of projects at once with attention to detail and brand guidelines. You would resize and crop images to fit ad sizes. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is typically required. Web design and video skills are a plus. We are the worldwide leader in Clippers, Trimmers and Professional products for stylists and consumers.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Production artists must be efficient and organized to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • You need to be able to use design software like Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop for work in print.
  • Other helpful skills include pre flighting and checking files, creating electronic layouts and proofing.

IT Infrastructure Manager

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and team-oriented individual to fill the role of IT Infrastructure Manager at Wahl Clipper Co., in Sterling, IL.  This role is responsible for architecting, expanding, implementing, supporting, operating, and maintaining Wahl Clipper Corp. IT infrastructure of technologies and platforms supporting a complex corporate data and voice infrastructure, including hardware, software, and communications equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, implementing, supporting, and maintaining security systems, firewalls, spam filters, malware, virus protection, and policies to provide requisite protection against viruses and other destructive or invasive software.
  • Planning, implementing, supporting, and maintaining equipment, systems, and policies to prevent data loss, and loss of computing capability. Also responsible for business continuity plan, data back-up and disaster recovery of Wahl Clipper’s IT systems.
  • Planning, implementing, supporting, and maintaining hardware, software and connectivity components by analyzing the functionality of infrastructure framework and designing and planning major upgrades and changes to ensure reliability and availability.

Information Technology Project Manager

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Project Manager hoping to make a big impact on our business.   The first project would be to head up our New ERP system implementation.  This position will be based in Sterling, IL.  The IT Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that customer needs are satisfied through managing and coordinating specific informational technology and business deliverables.  Manages and/or directs Wahl Clipper Corp. project team, contract staff and third party vendors.  Responsible for planning, designing, developing, acquiring, documenting, testing, implementing, integrating, maintaining and modifying IT/business systems for the organization.  

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing complex IT/business projects consisting of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of product from concept to post implementation.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through production, interfacing with the sponsor, stakeholders, and customers regarding initial delivery. Utilizes visual management system to monitor progress of projects.
  • Manages the development stage of the system life cycle, may include, planning, designing, developing, acquiring, documenting, testing, implementing, integrating, maintaining and modifying IT/business systems.
  • Translates information, process and workflow findings and requirements into detailed specifications for new or enhanced systems.
  • Analyze information requirements throughout the enterprise. Document information requirements and all related processes in both current and desired future state.
  • Coordinate and facilitate work groups involved in the analysis, selection and implementation phases.

The ideal person for this position has the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or Business/Engineering with strong IT coursework
  • The ability to help translate business needs to effective, simple IT solutions while working with a variety of business processes and leaders and ability to partner with Middle and Senior Managers to achieve business goals is required
  • Preferred Licenses / Certifications PMI or PMP certifications or formal course work desired.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects of $500,000 budget or more.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build new, repairs, rebuilds and/or overhauls all types of production progressive dies/injection molds and service equipment.

Assistant Product Manager - Consumer Division

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Industrial Designer – Consumer Division

Job Description:

This position must meet multiple deadlines and goals in regard to analyzing research and designing products for presentations to customers, new product development and research projects.   The Industrial Designer must possess design skills, free hand, computer aided design, and sample making.  They must have complete understanding of the new product development process and basic engineering skills in order to work with engineering to insure manufacturability of the designs created.  This position requires great attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge of computer aided design, model making and design technique to enhance the performance of the duties.

This position requires the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment.
