Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded consumer products, has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and team-oriented individual to fill the role of Product Manager in the Professional Animal Division at Wahl Clipper Co., in Sterling, IL.  This role will develop and manage products and marketing programs for the Veterinary, Equine and Large Animal grooming markets. 
 
Job Description:
The Product Manager is responsible for defining, positioning, pricing, and the promotion of grooming products for the Professional Animal Division along with managing the market adoption and product life cycles. The Product Manager is “the voice of the customer” and “owns” the product and is ultimately responsible for its overall success.  This role also includes the indirect management and cooperation of others with within the Professional Animal division and group to ensure the products’ successes.
 
This position requires the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment.
 
Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure a market driven “whole” product offering

  • Establish competitive and profitable pricing models

  • Ensure the existence and support of product distribution – sales

  • Orchestrate effective marketing promotions to drive revenue

  • Travel requirements: 15 – 20%

 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • The idea person for this position has the following:

  • A strong technical background and a proven understanding with the development process of new products.  

  • Minimum 3 years of similar experience within a consumer products company.

  • Minimum 5 years of actual hands-on marketing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business highly preferred.

  • Must be a self-directed leader and a strategic, calculated risk-taker with the ability to influence others.

  • Superior organizational skills are required with an attention to details.

  • Experience with product launches, product/brand research and promotional campaigns while being able to manage timelines.  

  • Determining customer requirements (via research, personal interviews, focus groups, surveys, roundtables, etc.) and translating them, through the development process into all required marketing documents and complete projects.  

Experience in the following areas:
  • Pricing, Promotional and Branding strategies

  • Product life cycle management and segmentation.

  • Highly imaginative and creative; able to conceptualize to see the end result.

  • Sales support

  • An understanding of distribution requirements.

  • Ability to read and understand P & L’s.

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required.

  • Required PC proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point and Excel.

  • Must have experience in social media platforms including, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Forums.

  • Must be a team player, work effectively and manage the relationships with Customers, Alliances, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Finance and Management with the ability to drive/direct product and brand development.

We are the worldwide leader in Clippers, Trimmers and Professional products for stylists and consumers.   This position will work 15-25 hours per week.  This position will not be eligible for health, dental, or any other Wahl benefits.
 
Our Part-Time Office Sales Services Coordinator will assist with customer service, order entry as well as mailings, filing and other office work.  The candidate may work with word processing and spreadsheets in coordination of Professional shows and classes.  This position requires good communication and organization skills.

Accounting Clerk

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Wahl Clipper Corporation, in business since 1919, is looking for a FULL TIME POSITION starting immediately in our Finance area.  We are the worldwide leader in Clippers, Trimmers and Professional products for stylists and consumers.  

 

Our Accounting Clerk will perform various accounts payable tasks such as invoice entry and employee expense report review and processing.  Also assist with various financial and general accounting activities and new system development and business process improvement opportunities.  

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounts payable activities such as review and process vendor invoices for payment, including perform three-way match of invoice to receipt and purchase order and general ledger account number assignment, as required. Also review and process employee expense reports and assist with processing disbursements and paying via ACH.  

  • Resolve issues on past due invoices, approvals and deductions from invoices paid, while developing and maintaining strong vendor relations.

  • Perform other accounts payable tasks as assigned by the Accounts Payable Coordinator.

  • Assist Financial Accounting Manager with select account analysis, journal entry and other tasks in support of the financial closing and annual audit.

  • Assist in performing various tasks to be defined in support of new system development and continuous business process improvement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Good interpersonal skills and team player willing to help find solutions to business problems

Marketing Project Coordinator – International Trimmer/Shaver Line
 
Location - Sterling, Illinois
 
The Project Coordinator will support the business unit by leading strategic portfolio management and new product initiatives.
 
Overall Role & Responsibilities:
  • Identify consumer requirements; defining market share, competitors share, strengths and weaknesses.

  • Conduct pricing analysis and support to EMEA, Latin America, Far East, and China.

  • Work with local marketing and sales management teams on product portfolio needs to bring to market.

  • Maintain and work with factories in setting up SKU Product Change notices (PCN) and Product Request Forms for products to be manufactured. 

  • Analyze SKU productivity and provide recommendations to maximize flow and turns globally.

  • Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities and managing end to end pricing.

  • Lead International Consumer Product Development and champion International Consumer Product portfolio for Trimmers/Shavers.

  • Manager product packaging; ensuring messaging that speaks to the consumer and wins at the shelf.

  • Develops commercial marketing materials, creates customer specific and/or business review presentations utilizing data, charts and other requested visual aids.

  • Collaborate cross functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, Production Control and Finance.

  • Coordinate International Marketing activities through subsidiary network ensuring cohesive brand messaging and communication.

  • Participate in annual trade shows to support development of business in territories.

 
Experience and Skills 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing required, MBA preferred

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Marketing in a Product Management role

  • International experience a plus

  • Strong analytical skills required

  • Must have strong skills working in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Foreign language skills preferred

  • Strong creative skills in Consumer Packaged Goods

  • Excellent Organization and communication skills required

  • Must have experience in New Product Development

The IT Systems Specialist I is responsible for administering and maintaining the Wahl Clipper Corporation desktop/phone environment.  The IT Systems Specialist I will also work with end-users and IT staff to design and develop business solutions to achieve company goals and objectives.

 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and two to five years on the job experience in maintaining and supporting a corporate desktop environment.  Some level of certification for Microsoft desirable but not required.  Experience working with EDI is preferred.

Business Development Analyst - 1st shift

International Sales and Marketing

The Business Development Analyst will support International growth initiatives providing monthly financial P&L support, end to end pricing and margin analysis, annual financial planning, business analysis and financial analysis for new markets/subsidiaries.

 

Overall Role & Responsibility

  • Prepares and provides Dashboard reporting/analysis supporting the category business teams and field sales teams

 Electronics Engineer

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Wahl Clipper, the worldwide leading manufacturer of Clipper and Trimmers for global consumer and professional markets, is searching for Electronics Engineers to expand their New Product Development Group in Sterling IL.  

A large percentage of the Electronics Engineer’s time will be spent collaborating with cross functional team members in the development and implementation of electronic features for new products.  The remainder of their time will be spent supporting and improving existing products, assisting the engineering test lab, and solving technical challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical design function on product development teams

  • Develop appropriate project costs, requirements, and schedule.  Focus activities to meet these goals

  • Design and direct engineering experiments

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronic Engineering 

  • Experience with developing, designing, testing, and debugging electronic circuits

  • Experience with operating electronic test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, battery analyzers, and data-loggers 

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in a cross-functional team environment

  • Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment

  • Creative problem solving ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PCB design software

  • Proficiency with programming microcontrollers in assembly or C++

  • Experience designing and building graphical user interfaces (GUI) with Labview

  • Knowledge of controlling and communicating electronic test equipment with PC and PLC interfaces such as RS232, GPIB, and USB
